These S&P shakers worked excellent for 3 years, then the plastic pin holding the spring on the salt shaker broke, and the lid cracked at some point. I will be ordering more.

I keep my shakers on a magnetic metal shelf attached to my refrigerator, thus they aren't protected from dust or the ever present pet hair that floats around. These are perfect because there is a lid but at the same time it is easy to hold the lid open single handed when using. I can say that you need to be a little careful with the salt shaker because it shakes a lot of salt but I've quickly gotten used to shaking it at a slant, controlling the release. plus, they're pretty.
